When animating a character, there are a lot of body parts to animate. But let's say the character is gonna walk into the stage, stop, wave, and then keep walking.
Okay, the walking goes fine, I guess, but when the character stops, what way would be the best for making his arm move WITHOUT havin' to draw the entire body again and again in the exact same position? Usually, drawing it all again and again looks pretty odd and disturbing. So, as the explaination goes by, what's the trick? Separate layers? Objects? Movie clips? GUAAHH it bothers me to PIECES D|
Please help

It appears that using less than 5 layers is an impossible task... |D

You should look up some tutorials about flash. Newgrounds.com has some nice user-made tutorials and pixel2life.com is also a pretty good place
