Inspired by watching nebezial's videos on youtube, I figured I wanted to try a different approach to digital painting that's closer to actual painting.

wow looks really nice :D
I love painting like this but it always takes ages for me, since i want every little detail to be included.

Thanks!
Ahh, I feel you there. I also have a kind of OCD going on about including everything to show it all, although I know from observation that many good drawings are - more often than not - better off without everything defined down to the last detail. I really admire the skill to stylize and simplify certain parts of a drawing in order to promote and show off the more important parts. This is especially visible when talking about lineart/ink drawings - I simply love how artists black out whole parts of a character for shadow effects and that kind of stuff!

Oh yeah I know what you mean.
And I'm also pretty amazed by cartoon backgrounds those where the lines are at a totaly different place then the color. xD sorry it's hard for me to describe it. I often see it in old roadrunner cartoons or even in newer ones like Steven Universe.
It's just kinda cool for me to see something I would think is wrong beeing right in it's own way. xD Ah anyways love your drawing hope you get what I mean.

Yeah, it's admirable how they make a seemingly simple thing look so good!
